I am running Synchrony Gateway Interchange 5.4.2.0.4.

I need some assistance with definitions & setup of new partners.

To start, what is the difference between: AS Address, EDI ID & Routing ID??

Where are each of these item setup in the partner profile??

AHIA,

Larry....

Hi Larry,

It would be great if you could share the business case here because all these could refer to the same ID in simple terms. Different b2b softwares interpret in their own ways. It is actually the unique ID of a company who wish to do electronic data interchange.

DUNS ID = EDI ID = ROUTING ID could all be the same, depends on the implementation in some cases (where they can be different due internal/external implementations). So, you would need your partner to give you a Unique ID, which will form the “to” address used in message trading.

If the partner is doing EDI, then he would recognize this ID. This ID could be in any format or length (up to 255 characters), including standard EDI or custom formats that include special characters or spaces.

For example: ZZTESTING, where ZZ is the qualifier (usually in EDI messages).

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
Sandeep
