I am looking for a way to automatically unzip files sent by a trading partner. I see in the collaboration settings an option to compress outbound files but nothing for inbound. Is there an option for inbound files also?
Thanks - Michelle |

Hello Michelle,
The compress setting on the Collaboration Setting is related to compression at the Business Protocol level. Many of the Business Protocols that Interchange supports have a compression feature included in the packaging specification. Based on the Collaboration Setting, Interchange will compress outbound messages. For inbound messages that use the Business Protocol level compression Interchange will automatically decompress the payload(s). This is not to be confused with using a stand alone compression tool like winzip or gzip. Interchange does not automatically compress or decompress payloads that have been compressed stand alone. There are a couple ways to have Interchange decompress payloads compressed outside of the business protocol packaging. One way would be to use a postprocessing script to call your favorite decompression tool from the command line. This option can be used regardless of your license level. If you have the Interchange SDK, then an inline processor could be created to programatically decompress a payload. It is quite possible that Axway's custom development group has already created an inline processor to handle decompression. You may want to contact support to inquire. I hope this is helpful. -Ric I am looking for a way to automatically unzip files sent by a trading partner.
