Hi Justin,
For migrating CFT 2.3.1 to 2.5.1, you have to uninstall the previous verion and install the new one. Before uninstalling the 2.3.1 version, mak a copy of your CFT folder and save also the following files if you want to roll-back :
c:\windows (or WINNT)\cft.ini
c:\windows (or WINNT)\system32\cft*.dll (there is 5 files to save)
Then you can install the 2.5.1 version. You have to know that this new version has new folder organization, so don't forget to modify your end of transfer script.
During the installation, you will have to enter the key : just check the box "disable key validation" because the key of a 2.3.1 version is not recognize by the new installer.
Once everithing is installed, open a DOS command and go into the folder c:\Axway\Synchrony*\Transfer*\runtime
Run the profile.bat script
Then you will be able to use CFT command (like cftutil about to view what version you have wink.gif) keep this command box open.
Copy your licence key in the following file : \runtime\conf\cft.key
To interpret your parameter file, go into the folder where you have your parameter file (by default : \runtime\conf\cft-tcp.conf)
Then type : cftinit cft-tcp.conf
and now you can start your CFT, by typing : cftstart
Good luck,
Regards,
LPC

Hi LPC wink.gif,

Finally I find a documentation (DOC-00018527)

but the procedure was really different of your.

They said : generate an intermediary file for the catalog and communication files with cftmi230.exe and cftmi240.exe, and exctract the configuration with cftutil cftext . I think i't a better idea.

in your message, you load a "empty" conf file in CFT, but I need to load my old cft config file wink.gif

I dont need to uninstall my CFT2.3.1 version, I have a new server to deployed the 2.5.1 version !

Now, I need to know where the cftmixxx.exe copy the file wink.gif

thank you a lot for your reply

Justin

I followed the steps provided by support, but the file generated by CFTMI230.exe was empty ...

I have been up and down this site and cannot locate the migration manager. Can someone provide a link?

It's located in the installation folder.

For exemple : /opt/cft/bin/CFTMI230
