Hi all.
We plan to change addressing of SAP Gateway from IP to DNS. When using ping, the DNS-server correctly resolves the IP-address from DNS-name. I have replaced IP with DNS in host-field in ALE Gateway and ALE Node, but I fail to get connected to SAP Gateway through XIB. Does anyone have any idea of what I am missing here? Best regards Arnstein E. |

I tried to flush dns, unfortunately it did not solve my problem. When I run communication test I get following TraceLogs Failed to open RFC connection Error opening RFC connection Error string = Not a RFC API error Regards, Arnstein E. |

As a temporary workaround, you can modify the %SystemRoot%\drivers\etc\hosts file to add an entry with the IP address / dns name. If you have the same behaviour, then one of the follwing parameters may be wrong: object name, node, client, user, password. I hope it will help. Regards, Samir |

Modification of hosts-file do not seem to solve my problem. I will verify the parametres as soon as possible. Thank you for your kind assistance. Regards Arnstein E. |
